Second review. I got takeout today for maybe the eighth or tenth time, as I was working in the area. There are two decent BBQ places nearer my home, and a one-off diner that serves decent Q. Deep Run Roadhouse, however, raises the bar way above anywhere else. The pulled pork is so deeply smoked and juicy, with a combination of tender and crispy bits cut finely, that it surpasses any other I’ve found. The sides are great, and the owner is very friendly.
Brisket. Absolutely the best brisket I’ve had in Richmond. A great smoked flavor that is fork tender. Have catered two events for us and we had so many compliments from our guests. The pulled pork is very good as well, and you have to have the Texas Caviar.
Not so great.. Rope sausage sandwich, jalapeo mac and cheese, pulled chicken sandwich. Sausage and chicken sandwiches were middle of the road. Jalapeo mac and cheese was good. Almost tasted like they mixed pickled jalapeos into country crock mac and cheese. If you want better food for your money, go to Hogshead Cafe. They’re awesome. I’m sorry I strayed.
Best Beef Brisket!. Ordered takeout from DRR tonight. The beef brisket sandwich was amazing-tender, juicy, and smokey. It was so good, I didn’t even have to add the sauce that came with it. Loved the slaw, too. My son’s fajita burrito with beef was also tasty, and a huge portion. Overall, I’d say we got quick takeout service, a great price for what we received, and excellent food. I’m looking forward to my next visit.
Loved it. Went here with several of my coworkers not long ago. Loved the food. They had unique items on their menu that just isn’t available in other bbq places. The food was very good, it was clean, and I’ll definitely go back. Lots of different things I’d like to try.

Catered Event. We just had Deep Run Roadhouse cater a fairwell luncheon for our departed coworker and let me sum it up by saying – AWESOME! The pulled pork was very tender – they take their time in separating – so no biting into gristle or fat, just perfect mouth-watering barbeque. The Jalapeno Mac and Cheese was so smooth and cheesy… I know it probably wasn’t good for me, but simply incredible. I can say I did eat something healthy – The Texas Caviar was fresh and crisp with an amazingly light and sweet taste – Two Thumbs up for DRR!
