OMG!!! Finally a great sushi place. Thought we would try and it is so fresh and so good!! Variety rolls and they will make whatever you want. We will definately be back!
I love this place!. Their location made my husband and I (who are new to Richmond) drive by and not go in a couple of times. We are from Minneapolis and used to a more upscale looking location but in Richmond everything is quite different and sometimes very opposite of what we expect. One day we said let’s do this and discovered that place is wonderful! Their signature roll named after the restaurant is absolutely amazing. I know another reviewer said they use too much rice, which is odd if you take a look at the picture I’ve attached, it is mostly fish and very little rice. Their flavors are great, the only roll we didn’t like had Old Bay on it, to be fair it was listed in the ingredients but it just didn’t work. Outside of that we have had over half of their rolls and we thoroughly enjoy each and every one!
Good sushi joint. With so many sushi spots in Richmond, it’s hard to stand out. The sushi here tastes fresh and the rolls are well made and flavorful. My only complaint is that I’m not a fan of the shredded lettuce house salad with the lunch box..

I think other reviews are fake – notice how there are no pictures with 100% of the reviewers?!?. Hanami sushi has been on my list to try as I am a sushi addict. After trying just about every place in Richmond/DC/NYC ect., I have found a few good places here in Richmond! This was not one of them! I ordered 4 rolls and they were just plopped on a plate. They were all mostly white rice, very little fish inside. My friend and I just picked off a lot of the rice to get to the fish inside, and the fish did not look appealing. The salmon was brown. I thought at first it was a mistake and I got Eel in my roll but when I asked the waitress she said that was the salmon. Ok I eat salmon 4-5 times a week and sushi 4-5 times a week and I have never seen brownish salmon. It tasted funny. We paid and left and went next door to have some Mexican at Mexico. If you are interested in new good sushi in the Glen Allen, VA area – DONT go here go up the road on Cox rd to MISO!! Miso was fabulous and I have been there now 5 times. Fresh Fresh Fresh and gorgeous fish dishes!!!!
Yay! I am full of sushi! I came in on Friday and almost empty. Too bad. Very fast service and very good sushi and rolls.
