Very very bad. It’s not good Mexican food, it’s not good New Mexican food, it’s just plain not good food. Server was really good and very nice. Resturant was empty minus one other table, host wanted to seat us practically on top of the other party. Do not get the fajitas, very chewy meat, and I’m glad they only give you a very small amount of meat bc it was so bad. The enchiladas were awful. About ten chips served in an ash trey looking thing with a salsa that taste like canned tomomato paste.
Went there alot.. When Anita, herself, was still alive, running the restaurants, and screaming at her employees, this was a very good Mexican restaurant. I thought it was the best one in the area. Since she has left the scene it has sadly deteriorated. The food is grossly inferior to what it had been. Perhaps they can find someone else to run these restaurants who really cares about the food.
I’ll Take the Old Mexico Style. If this is New Mexico Style, then count me out. The tortilla chips taste like cheap, generic grocery brand, and the salsa is watery and not at all fresh tasting. The Chile Relleno and Taquito were clearly pre-made, freezer section items, and the Mexican Rice was just cooked white rice with canned diced tomatoes. The only thing that even attained mediocre in my meal was the taco, but that was only on par with Taco Bell, and I will eat there before going back to Anita’s. I have heard good things about there burritos, so maybe I’ll try one of them sometime, but I am still waiting to be impressed.
In one word…. GROSSHow does this restaurant stay open? Why did I just spend $36 on a dinner I could have made myself? And who in their right mind would rate this place positively? Please someone answer me. Im dumbfounded!
Just OK. Not as good as Lalo’s in Chicago.
Great Mexican food! Their breakfast burritos are a tradition for monthly breakfasts at home and work! We have gone here for over 15 years for a reason.
I love Anita’s. I’m from New Mexico, and I’ll admit it’s not completely authentic but pretty darn close. And delicious anyways
