LOVE IT!. I used to live right down the street and would go most weekends. Now I live in Ashburn and can’t go as often. The food is wonderful, the staff is delightful, and I wish they would open up one in Ashburn. All we have there is a House of Pancakes, which I only visit when I’m really hungry and don’t have time to drive to Herndon!MESSAGE TO LINK: Ashburn, Ashburn, Ashburn!

Home Cookin’. Most of my experience was from their location in Leesburg a long, long time ago, but I have been here, too. The wait is usually pretty long, but your patience is rewarded handsomely. I would stick to the basics (go to Anita’s down the street if you want chorizo in your breakfast). Love the biscuits. When it’s truly packed, you may wind up with cooled-off food, unfortunately. I wish VA Kitchen would stay open 24 hours. I think they would make a killing.

Hungry Like a Wolf. I travel all over the planet for the work i do, and it is vey difficult finding a decent place to just to read the paper and have some good coffee. I love this place.. the Staff and the owner are just very cordial even if it’s your first time dining.. They will always make sure your coffee never goes cold. The food is in-expensive and food is delicious, I don’t mind the wait, very well worth it.. The locals do hang out here and in fact I have met many new wonderful people who are very polite to one another.. I live in Beautiful California, and truly wish i had a local neighborhood coffee joint as this one.. I may consider re-locating here… Beside.. the Women here in Virginia/DC are pretty also..LOL:)

Greasy and bland. Very nice and friendly service but the food was cheap in every sense of the word. I had one of their weekend specials: chorizo omelette with home fries. The chorizo had essentially no taste and was dry and the whole thing had a thick layer of bland cheese on top of it. The home fries were greasy.

Not Delighted. They featured VA Kitchen on WETA local channel (Breakfast in Washington). Went to try it out the next day and ordered one of the specialties Doris Delight or so. I was not delighted about the food at all the Virginia Ham was too salty and they served the biscuit at room temperature. The whole food is just mediocre, could care less about the interior but could say the same with the food. The owner and staff are friendly but that’s about it. I guess it’s true that Northern Virginians love mediocre foods. I’d rather go to chain of restaurants such as Silver Diner, Bob Evans, etc.

Great Gramma Breakfast. Went to VA Kitchen this morning for the first time. We got cheddar sunrise & make your own omelette, shared a waffle. It was tons of food for 2 people and neither of us finished. Each dish came with either hash browns or home fries so we each tried both. Personally, I LOVED the home fries, but that all just depends on your tastes, they’re the sliced potatoes in spices & pepper w/ onions and green peppers sauteed in. DELISH! The service was really nice, we got our food within 5 minutes after ordering which was surprising since the restaurant was full! Price was good, without coffees it was just $20.35 for everything. Pretty reasonable for how much food we got! Will DEFINITELY go back!

Some good, some bad. I had the steak and eggs. The steaks was tasteless and overcooked and the biscuit was pretty dry. I thought the hash browns were very good and buttery and the eggs were ok. Also Al’s grits was good too. There is so much on the menu that I am sure they do some things well but breakfast ribeye is not one of them
