Fantastic!. Whenever I travel to the Herndon area I have to stop by and enjoy this restaurant. Their service is impeccable, the food is always exceptional. I highly recommend their Veal Chop as it is delicious! Many team dinners have almost wiped out their Veal Chop inventory in one sitting. If you are in the area you must try this restaurant and add it to you favorites list.
An excellent choice! I started with a very nice Prosecco. After some good discussion with the waiter, I settled on the special, roast rack of lamb in a rosemary red wine sauce. If your not a fan of lamb, after this, you will be. I paired the lamb with a very nice glass of Syrah (thanks Mario). I rounded out the meal with a nice lemon sorbetto. All in all, this was a great introduction to Herndon.
Believe this…. I am a big fan, but not an easy critic, when it comes to Italian cuisine. So when I say Zeffirelli is good Italian food believe that. It is an oasis in a desert if you are staying in one of the nearby airport hotels. Venture out and give Zeffirelli a try. I think you’ll be glad you did. The staff was congenial and extremely accommodating. It is a small venue and as such could be loud. That’s not a criticism just a fact worth mentioning. The night we went the ambient noise level was low.We ordered Cesar salad, the antipasto platter and Caprese salad for appetizers; each dish was tasty and well portioned. There were five in my party and we each tried a different dish. In the end there was a universal thumbs up and clean plates from everyone.
Favorite Restaurant in Northern Virginia. This is the main reason I look forward to my birthday. Zeffirelli has amazing italian food, especially the veal chop. While a special, I have never seen them run out, and it is cooked perfectly. The restaurant is small, quaint, and worth the price you pay. Extremely attentive wait staff and sommelier a major plus.
Enjoyable. Visited Zeffirelli for a group dinner. Waitstaff was very attentive and professional. The calamari appetizer was excellent. The only complaint is that our group was quite crowded at the table and the chairs were uncomfortable. Otherwise, an excellent place to eat Italian food!
Went on Valentine’s Day expecting to have a good time. Very slow and unattentive service!! Big disappointment. Would never go again!!
Had Dinner …. Service was nice and very attentive (and very Italian) … atmosphere good. But food was only mediocre. Gnocchi was a bit over cooked and gummy (I had the Gnocchi & Salmon). Wife had the Lobster Ravioli — which was better, but not fantastic. House salad was overdressed and very oily. Wines were good. With so much competition for good Italian food … I was hoping this would be better.
