Favorite Barbeque place. The food is always delicious and the staff is friendly, helpful and fairly quick. The nachos, spicy wings, St Louis pork burrito, smoked turkey sandwich and sweet potato fries are my favorites. I have been going here for over 3 years and have not found another barbeque place that is as good.
BBQ the way it should be. Some locals may remember Ken’s BBQ in Smithfield, which for years won tons of awards and was the favorite around town. Of course, Ken’s bit the dust pretty hard, and along came Bubba and Frank with a new concept that takes the bull (and the beef) by the horns.The menu is extensive and there’s nothing that isn’t delicious. Double negatives that create positives aside, you’ll always find one or both of the partners inside cooking away. Frank, the white guy, and Bubba, the black guy, are a true team of genius and will prepare anything you want, just how you want it. Drinks are self-service, and while you don’t have a server in the traditional sense, she still checks on you and visits the table.Burgers are incredible, tasty gems of perfection, as are the hot dogs in case you’re not a BBQ person. But if you want to experience some great BBQ, you’re in for a treat.Bubba n Franks also does extensive catering, and will provide as much or as little as you require for your group–Frank himself comes out and takes care of everything for you. He even serves.Bubba n Frank’s is the perennial favorite and certainly among the finest when it comes to local dining…and hands-down experts on BBQ. It doesn’t get better than this.

Just ate at the location near Janaf and all I can say is holy smokes!!! Carolina barbecue is perfect-with the right amount of vinegar and flavor- and the bun was crisp on the outside, soft in the middle and not soggy at all! The hush puppies were round and plump like they’re supposed to be (not that weird, long skinny stuff). Almost like a puff, but with a sweet, chewy, dense yet light middle. I will definitely be back again to try their highly recommended smoked burgers!!! ***Janaf location giving FREE BBQ sandwiches on Sept 22-23***
Should not have had so many gristles in my BBQ sandwich. Taste was ok but have had better. And, at lunchtime they should not be out of a dessert when they only have two choices. Better choice is Whiteners in VA Beach.
Medium. It’s ok. I live in Smithfield and I have never had the urge to drive over here and eat. The food is good, but not memorable. Portion size seems a bit small for the price. I’ve never had anything bad though and the service is fine. It is served fast-food style, you order at a counter and they bring your the food, you don’t really have a server. If I’m over in Carrollton at lunch time I would eat here, but it’s not something I seek out.
