TERRIBLE HORRIBLE AWFUL NO-GOOD SERVICE. I heard about how good this meat market was supposed to be….but they left out the part about how rude the lady in there was. She was GOD AWFUL to deal with. I wanted to actually return my meat after I left just because how mean she was to me. The imported meat was okay at best. Not worth my time nor gas money to get there. I have had better service while eating breakfast at Shoney’s. Needless to say….PLEASE DONT GO. save money and gas by visiting the local Food Lion for all of your meat needs.
Want the best BBQ?. Definitely not the best BBQ around, brisket was mostly fat and the ribs were tough and didn’t taste like they were smoked, muffin might have been baked there but tasted like a box mix I’ve had at other places. Want better BBQ, try Bubba n Franks. Want the best BBQ, try Country Boy’s!
If you live ANYWHERE in Tidewater, you owe yourself a trip to Jeb’s
Horrid service. This is a place to go if you want bad service or manners from the service crew. I was sitting with friends when the girl came over and started yelling at me. Her hands were on her waist, bent over getting close to my face when she raised her voice to start yelling at me just because she did not agree with what I said to my friend.I canceled my order ready to leave when she yelled at me saying she did not yell. As you can guess what I said. I’m here to help spread the word how bad they treat customers. I would not go in unless you want to be treated like dirt.
Unique combination here, meat market, BBQ joint with Korean foods as well. Family is part Korean so it’s authentic and good. Daughter bakes everything! Didnt have any problems with anyone (like others reported) and we talked to them for a while, Missy who works there was very friendly and really helpful. We had the mando, pork bulgolgi, pork BBQ and a cheesecake. The big standouts here were the Korean dishes, although the BBQ was definitely above average as well. Cheesecake was also above average. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. Look out though some of this food has a kick to it!
Good but not that good.. Ok Im done. The food is good but not good enough to make up for the rude, pushy and unfriendy waitress aka the daughter and the lecture we got upon entering and the indigestion we all got because of feeling rushed to eat and get out . She hovered over us the whole time and even encourage our child to hurry and eat her food. The first time we went there and encountered her we thought oh how cute and quirky the second time was a little less cute but this last time was outright rudeness. I was very embarrassed at the way she treated and spoke to our party (6). I had talked Jebs up as so good and to give the out of town family a little local color and assured them that they would love it. Ok so you like advanced notice with a party of 6, We are patronizing your business we are bringing in customers. If you want people out by 8 close the doors at 7:30. We live very close but will not be back or recommend to anyone else. And oh by the way foam plates and the cheapest, smallest plastic utensils you can get. You probably wont miss us but Im done.
An Experience. You will enjoy this place if you have the right expectations going into it. First of all, it’s not like other restaurants. It is run by a family. The mom cooks, the dad is the butcher, and there are two daughters, who I think are twins, who do service, but normally only one is working. That being said, your service will NOT be what you normally get at other restaurants. The food however is quite good. The BBQ is above average as well as the sides. I recommend the beans. Now, if you are feeling more adventurous get some Korean food. They serve equally well BBQ and Korean food. The family is Korean so this does make sense. The bulgogi and kimchi are excellent. My personal favorite is the yaki mandu, a pork dumpling. It is served with this soy/pepper dipping sause that is so salty and yet so good. Order some of these, you won’t be disappointed. All this to say eating here is an experience. The food has always been good, but sometimes the family is grumpy or obviously flustered that they are busy. They are family friendly however. So, if you want some good BBQ/Korean food and are willing to take your chances with the service, give this place a try!
