Bad attitude. Been going to this restaurant for over 2 decades….Since the owner passed away and the son took over, the restaurant is going downhill….I will call him a boy; since that boy took over, service and quality of food is horrific…He’s very disrespectful and doesn’t know how to talk and relate to people
Norfolk’s Best Kept Secret. My father took me for the first time last month. I was very pleased by the service and the food. Best pasta dinner I have ever eaten! I took my husband, and he too was very pleased. It’s our new family Italian Restaurant!
This place was horrible the food was nasty it was small and the waitress her name was Donna she was rude and made it a point to tell us her parents owned this place over all just horrible I’ve told everybody I know about the rude service…and awful food
Ok food, terrible service. My friend and I took our two toddlers to Franco’s after a trip to the botanical garden. The owner recognized my friend right away as they used to frequent this place when they lived closer. That was nice but it was the only thing. We sat down at a table right where the servers came out from the back so I felt like I was in the way the whole time we were there. Then, ALL the high chair straps were broken so the kids kept climbing up and trying to get out. We ordered a plate of pasta for them and the waitress sat the nuclear hot dish and food right in front of them so they could have easily been burned. The food was ok but not stellar. It would be good for takeout. I did like the bread though. When it came time for the checks, the waitress who picked up the cards mixed them up and charged us for each other’s order. They ran our cards 3 times before they figured it out and then the one girl started badmouthing the other! It was just a terrible situation. That was on Saturday and it took until Thursday for the charges to come off of my checking account. And to top it all off, I was overcharged after all that. my bill should have been $13-$14 but I was charged $18. If I lived closer to this place I would have gone back on principal alone. I will NOT be going back. Oh, and there is no changing table in the bathroom for those of you with little ones.
Disappointing. Way too small of a space. Waitresses bumping into everyone and everything. The tables are on top of each other. Waitress appeared to be unhappy all night. Antipasto was brought out 30 seconds before meals arrived. Waitress did not seem to care. It tasted good. My wife got the cheese ravioli, half of which were devoid of any cheese. The sauce on the ravioli had a sour taste to it. I got the chicken pizzaiola. Mushrooms were from a can. The sauce was very bland. I added red pepper, salt, pepper and cheese, all of which failed to liven the dish up. This is not an authentic italian restaurant. Spend a bit more and go to Manninos, la bella, Isle of Capri, Aldo’s or even Ynot.
In town for business and local contact recommended Franco’s for lunch, said it was good. I disagree, it’s FANTASTIC! Had me a grilled chicken salad that was so awesome I decided to return for a grilled chicken salad hoagie to go for dinner. The service is superb and the atmosphere very nice. A definite five star restaurant. You gotta try this place.
Best Italian food in the area. Neighborhood prices and downtown quality. It’s our favorite place to eat in the area.
