I finally got to try this place. I went there for lunch with my older brother. We tried the Lunch Buffet. It didn’t disappoint use! Everything they had out was delicious! It was a mixture of Caribbean and Soul Food. The Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat, Candied Yams and Cabbage deserve a special shout out. And Coconut Muffins are to die for. I’m definitely coming back to try their dinner.

There was a woman there that waited on me and she was great! Music was great also. You must come and eat here. If you love soul food and Jamaican food trust me you wont be disappointed!
Ok, a few months ago i had issue with my food. Well, just had to go back and give it another try. The rice & peas had other vegetables in it(had to pick out the string beans,allergic)and the plantains was just awful. They were extremely bitter/sour. Curry chicken so-so. My oxtails dinner, was not right. Will NOT be goingmback!01 Jun, 2013The food and price is ok, but they dont give you enough. Their large is like ordering a small. And the last few times there seem to be other things in the foodand not what I order. I stop going there and tried another place and their food was good and they gave you plenty. But i tried MP again last week and had the same problem; something else was in my oxtails. They need to be more focus when cooking and/or putting food together.

Goodtime at MP. I went to MP Island Cafe on Thursday night with my wife and a couple of friends,they had a live bands playing the atmosphere was nice and the food was great. I had the Jerk Chicken and my wife had the Curry Chicken the waitress was on point getting or drinks and cleaning our table. I enjoyed the night out at MP Island Cafe.
Not so happy. I have been to this establishment twice and both times it was a major disappointment. I waited in line for 24 minutes to get an order of curry chicken only for them to tell me when I got to the front of the line there was none and that I would have to wait 45 minutes. I don’t have to wait for anything! I left. The next time I went in to what was called Happy Hour. From my experiences, there was nothing happy about it. I waited 15 minutes for a drink and 25 minutes to try what I thought were jerk wings. It was old and cold. i wouldn’t recommend it.
I always come out to mp island cafe norfolk for they lunch buffet and I get great service from the your lady who helps me and my office crew for our Wednesday lunch meetings..but today 10/17/2012 might be the last day I ever come out..this new lady was rude and she had no class. She didn’t know anything and I over heard her talking about being on probation. I never had an experiance like this but I don’t think I will ever return..she had the nerve to ask me why I didn’t leave a tip..she never helped me or spoke to us..I never had any bad remarks about mp but today I was disappointed..please train this lady better
