we were craving for Indian food and I desperately wanted dal tadka (yellow lentil). We chose this over Nawab because of this only. We settled and I told server my preferences and asked him to prepare like my way. But the server was not at all aware of Indian food, guess he was American. at least you should know what you are serving.Anyway, we ordered dal tadka/bhindi fry/paneer and all were good in taste. we finished the food just in minutes. service was little slow but overall good food.
We went late on a Sunday afternoon for the buffet (around 2:40). Despite the closing down time of 3:00, they cheerily welcomed us in for lunch. Although it was late, there was still plenty of variety left on the buffet. I thought it was a pretty decent selection, including the usual favorite chicken dishes and vegetable dishes, plus a few selections one should expect for a weekend buffet price (that means higher for some reason), such as fish curry and lamb curry. They had a good selection of chutneys, as well as two dessert selections. Naan comes out fresh to the table at this place. I always like that. The naan was from a tandoor, just as it should be. Crispy on the outside with a nice stretch in the inside is what you get from this super hot clay oven. It was even brushed with a little clarified butter. Yum. We were offered a naan refill when the server noticed we were low. Curiously what we got on the second round was some frozen product-very different from the first go around. I don’t know if this was because they were shutting down the kitchen or if they always serve the cheaper version for refills. I should also mention that the service was not only very warm, but also prompt and attentive. My diet soda addiction was handily enabled without so much as a word. I even had to cut myself off of refills. The price of the buffet was $15, so not a cheap lunch. Maybe their weekday buffet is more economical. I love Indian food above all others, so it was worth it to me.
