Nasty overpriced Mexican American meal microwave pre-made norfolk slop. This slop taste like pasta sauce and cheese. It’s so nasty. I had meals replaced and it’s still nasty. The steak is dry and has no taste, the chicken is dry it taste like frozen meet that needed to be prepared quickly so the boiled it in salt. This meal is just nasty. Only can mushy beans . And yellow packaged ready made food emergency supply rice including dehydrated peas. They toss lots of cheese to mask the cheap taste. It’s nasty. Does not taste home made. Did I mention it’s Nasty!!Service was good, staff was friendly – they were quick to bring out the ready made dish (that’s what it taste like old and stale.)The chips and did were the best thing unlimited. Maybe this is a good place to go for a snack and drinks.
Overpriced nasty mexican food….. Please don’t bother wasting your time or money on this place. The appearance of the restaurant is nice, but that’s as far as it goes. My family and I went to this restaurant about a month ago and thought the food, service and drinks were great. We went back yesterday thinking we would receive nothing less than what we had previously experienced….we were dead wrong. The only food we had that tasted fresh were the free tortilla chips on the table. We should of known something was wrong when we ordered food for 4 people and our entrees came out in less than 5 mins after ordering. My husband ordered enchilladas and what was supposed to be ground beef inside looked like puree dog food. The beef at taco bell looks and tastes better than the crap they put in those enchilladas. The tamale we ordered was so dry, when you put a fork through it the tamale literally cracked and fell apart in pieces. There was no flavor to it and I’m positive they pulled that tamale out of a freezer and micowaved it right before they served it to us. My California burrito was disgusting to say the least. The steak tasted dry and as if they poured an entire shaker of salt in it. I could tell they shoved the burrito in the microwave as well since the middle of the burrito was warm but the rest was room temperature. I mean how hard is it to cook fresh skirt steak? The margarita I ordered tasted like pure juice…I’m not even sure they actually put tequila in the drink. My husband spoke to the manager on the way out just to let them know our experience was the worst we’ve ever had. Of course they didn’t seem to care….we’ll never be back here again and I’ll be sure to let people know they shouldn’t waste their money on this place. Go to Camino Real…authentic mex food for an awesome price and great drinks. It isn’t as modern and updated as Jose’s but at this point I can care less.
Don’t Go There. The restaurant has a typical Mexican appearance…the service was pretty good but the food was a major let down. Our tuna on the tacos was overcooked and dry! The steak she had was overcooked and dry. I thought that the overall pricing seemed somewhat high…..there is no need to go back there again…..I am not that foolish or stupid!
Have been there twice and both times the waiters have screwed up the orders. Not impressed and will not be back.
It’s literally El Tapito with nicer seats. Go to Camino Real and save some money and eat better food.
I thought the food was good, can’t really mess up Mexican food 🙂 The atmosphere was nice. Everyone checked in on us, almost a little too much… But over attentiveness is way better than under! Will be back!
Will never step foot in this place again.. Don’t ever eat at Jose Tequila’s. The hostess will look at you but walk away without acknowledging you, and that goes for the rest of the staff as well until you look annoyed. Then when you get a to go menu some one will shove a huge menu in your face until you grab it from them. Then tell you to take a seat when they aren’t even listening to you that you just want to know the price of an item. Obviously I’m not going to sit down if I don’t have the money to afford it…duh…Same place I applied at last week where it was the same girl who ignored me for 5 minutes then when I was ready to turn my application in, acted like I was a new person, even though I had the app in my hand.El Tapatio closed, and moved across the street to Jose Tequila’s Guess they fired old staff hired new. Will NEVER eat there…rude people all around.Taco Bell instead…yep. Way nicer service and the menu wasn’t shoved in my face.
