Great mom and pop shop for sushi! No need for the typical distracting Asian decor like the other sushi joints because the food tastes great here. There’s a cute old man as the sushi chef that just gives you a REAL touch of Asia in the atmosphere and especially in the sushi. Trust me, I’m Asian, I know!
Sushi by Master Chu. Clean environment (somewhat traditional), good food and friendly staff. I have eaten here over 50 times which should speak for itself as a repeat customer. A couple of times the service wavered but that does happen. ;-/My typical fare is Seaweed salad (good staple), edamame, or agedashi (mildly sweet), and then some tuna, salmon, etc as sashimi or maki. Washed down with some plum wine. Never had a bad food experience here. Recommended for medium-priced sushi experience.
Very slow service. When we walked in, there were only a few other customers but it took an hour and a half for them to make two rolls and a sushi appetizer. The sushi was mediocre, at best. The fish was room temperature, definitely not chilled, and the rolls fell apart easily. It is highly unlikely we will dine here again.
Fresh food, excellent preparation, mom and pop atmosphere!
