Perfect dive bar. Cheap beers, great food and wonderful specials. Every day from 5 till six is 1.50 BIG drafts. Monday they do tacos and such dirt cheap, Tuesdays is .25 steamed shrimp and I believe they have burgers for .50 on Wednesdays. That plus friendly smiling service and you can’t go wrong.
We stopped going to Mel’s because the employee Duke is rude! We go to Miss Kitty’s now where they are happy to have our business! Duke has been very rude every time we come to Mel’s! So we gave it a break! We decided to give it another chance but his attitude is the same! It still sucks!!! On a good note the bartenders are very sweet and are happy you are there! When Duke get rid of business it hurts all! We tip good and act normal! Why does he have such a chip on his shoulder! Only Duke knows!!
