Hong Kong Kung Pao Chicken. Small bits of chicken, peanuts, and lots of chilies.
Disappointed. I have been to imperial Palace before and was excited to go again. This time the soup was wonderful, but everything else was sub par. The crispy chicken wing tasted frozen and were less portion than the other Chinese place I go to. The pork was tough and dry even with the sauce. With all that being said, I am better going for take out somewhere else and pay half the money I was charged there
Went for dinner with my fiance last night. Was taken back when the owner approached the table with business cards that had printed instructions on how to vote them into best of the beach. Wow, I think if your place is good enough to win it, it will. Why cheapen yourself and offer deals only to get people to vote for you? I’ll take my business to Peking Duck, Jade Villa, or Peter Changs (Landstown) any day of the week. Food is just average, service is top notch.16 Jul, 2013Fried Rice is dark brown – wtf?. This place is way overrated. The best Chinese restaurant in Kempsville is The Peking Duck Inn. Hands down.
Try It. I went there for lunch. I order the chicken lettuce wraps, kind of expensive, but really good. The only comparison I had was PF Chang’s. Imperial Palace’s were different, in a good way. The chicken wasn’t heavy on the sauce, which Chang’s sometimes is, and they use endive instead of iceberg lettuce. Nice change. I have always had a good plate of food and good service when I visit.
Throwback.. These days, it seems that Chinese restaurants are all either fast food hutches or peddlers of gastronomic exoticism. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with either of those, it was refreshing to visit the Imperial Palace and find the sort of comfortable experience that was once the norm in Chinese-American dining. There are white tablecloths and covered serving platters, but the service is casual enough to undercut any perceived formality in the setting. Just to be clear, that’s intended as a positive remark. The menu isn’t much different from that which you might find in a fast food joint (Kung Pao shrimp, General Tso-and-so’s Chicken, etc.), but the difference is in the preparation and presentation. The ingredients are fresh and well-sourced, and one never feels that the garlic and Szechuan sauces were ladled forth from the same vat. Service managed to be both reserved and adaptive, which is exactly as I prefer it. My meal at the Imperial Palace was one of the most satisfying that I’ve had in recent months, and I look forward to returning quite often in the future.
The Imperial Palace Reataurant. Went for dinner with a party of seven. All I can is EXCELLENT. We had great service the restaurant neat and clean. The food was if not as good as Chinese food from new york was better. It’s very hard finding good restaurants.WE FINALLY FOUND ONE,THE IMPERIAL PALACE.
All was good. The whole experience was great! My first time here at Imperial Palace will not be my last. Great food, great staff. Well deserves to be best of the beach. Not surprised at all!
