My husband and I have been big fans of Cheddars even though we don’t get there often. We stopped in at the Newport News location on Monday around 5. Our waiter was OK but not very aware of our needs. My husband ordered double fries, and there were maybe 10 fries on his plate. When he asked the waiter about it, he said he would get more, well about 10 more fries later, we gave up. My baked potato was cold, like it had been in the refrigerator, caked with butter, also cold, chicken tenders were cold as well. Bottom line it was a awful meal with awful service, miss the great food and great service we used to get at Cheddars.
NEWPORT NEWS CHEDDARS. I visited cheddars for the first time this past week. The food was more then great and satisfying. I had the chicken key west and shrimp! AMAZING! My server was laura, she was excellent 🙂 make sure you ask for her. A must try place
Zero service.. The hostess seemed less than happy to seat us on a quiet Tuesday night. We were ignored by the waitress for 25 minutes (timed her) and then we walked out without being spoken to by any of the staff at all.
Too long to be seated, even longer for wait staff to arrive. Silverware with caked on food, broken beverage glass. Below average dry food. Waitress was very nice when she was able to come around. Won’t be back.
Cornmeal Catfish. This is a very good dish I go there just for this they hung foods are good to the chicken is fine but I love the fried catfish

Good Food. I really enjoy eating at Cheddars. Sadly I have a favorite and never try anything else. The buffalo chicken wrap with extra buffalo sauce is fantastic. Kids always eat well, wife gets various things and is rarely disappointed. Relatively inexpensive. Which the glazed croissants were still complimentary, but they went away with that quite some time ago.
