I ordered the carne asada with yuca, beans, and rice. Everything was very good. Although I will say the price is about te same as any regular sit down Mexican place. 14 bucks and change with a drink. Still, I’d recommend this place.
Great food and attentive staff. Simple place with no real ambience but good food. Whatever you order, order it with their specialty which is roasted chicken. Burrito grande with chicken was excellent as was the chicken sandwich.
I liked the chicken but the ribs were too dry for me to eat. I liked the pinto beans too and staff was friendly.
How can you not love their chicken quesadilla. Soooo cheesy. Yum
Hard to Dislike. Big challenge to find anything wrong here. This location has decent seating but I really wish they would kick up the AC. The food is good and tasty. My half chicken came out juicy with a crisp skin. What really won me over was the green sauce it came with. It is a MUST for spicy food lovers! I dipped my chicken in it and stole my husband’s to mix into my rice ^_^. We also had the Grilled Beef Taco Platter (the platter is all beef or chicken, no mixing allowed) which at first glance looks pretty plain and Americanized (especially if you are expecting more of a street taco style) but the meat inside the tortilla is marinated in something amazing. It’s actually more flavorful than the chicken. It makes me want to order their carne asada next time just to get a big hunk of meat by itself. As for their Tres Leches cake….soft, moist with a gentle sweetness, a great finish! Definitely going back!
Unique burrito joint. I’m not a HUGE fan of this place, but it’s unique enough that it’s well worth a visit every now and then. You can get some unusual dishes like fried plantains that are hard to find elsewhere in Richmond, in addition to the usual burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and so on. The prices have always felt a bit steep when I go here, but that may be because I feel obliged to try one of the side dishes every time.
Omg so good! Had the 1/4 chicken w fried yucca n coleslaw. I’m really happy they have something like this down here almost as good as el pollo Rico! They even got the sauces right! The tres leche cake is awesome!
