Happiest at weekday buffet – best deal, same food/service. Hot food, about a dozen options, refilled often and made fresh/kept hot. I like India K’Raja quite well, but I dislike how the buffet prices fluctuate up to 200% based on time of day or day of week when *nothing* about the offerings change. It’s a steal, delicious unlimited food during weekday lunch, but I wouldn’t go at other times.
I started working here a month ago, and reading these old reviews sound like a complete opposite to how the restaurant is now. My coworkers and I definitely work our butts off to please our servers, I haven’t had an unsatisfied customer yet. The buffet is amazing and stays warm, service is awesome because we care, and the owners are definitely the sweetest people to work for! I recommend this place to anyone, especially first time dining Indian food.
Buffet all the way. Wish the restroom wasn’t built as an afterthought in the middle of the eating area. Feel like everyone can hear me.
Their menu no longer online. Their website indiakaraja.com now redirects to a facebook page. The menu is nowhere to be found
Rightfully the Best Indian Restaurant. I had the Best Indian meal here after long time of trying it everywhere else I have been. The place was cozy and warm with my waitress being so attentive and friendly. Punjabi saag reminded me of the back home taste and the Makki di roti was perfect, crispy and well done. I will be back to this restaurant every time I visit Richmond.
Worst Indian Food. We went there for a buffet lunch on Saturday afternoon and was really disappointed with the way the dishes were served. The south indian food like idli and vada was totally cold and almost all the other dishes were at the same state. The taste of the food was really horrible..we had aloo baigan on that day and we were not able to taste even one piece of it…nothing was tasty even the sambhar they served. For desert they had a kulfi and it was like a dry powder mix…i will never again visit this place…they make indian food taste horrible..sorry to say that!!!!!
Outstanding Indian restaurant. I am from India and recently moved to Richmond from Philadelphia. I am very discriminating when it comes to Indian restaurants and this place made me a fan instantly. The chicken curry reminded of the same taste I used to enjoy in Delhi and the tandoori parath was to die for. I have already been to this place three times since I moved last week and I don’t think I will ever get tired of it. I noticed that they have been here for 15 years. Wow!
