  Not Going Back. In the past my family has never had a problem with Peking. The food has always been good and hot, but a couple of months ago we got beef that was… well inedible. It did not taste like beef, and I don’t know what happened but I don’t think I want to. Won’t be heading back here anytime soon.

  Once a strong contender, heading south…. We used to think that Pekin was one of the better venues for good Chinese food. It saddens me that our experience was less than favorable.We went there with a coupon and were struck immediately that almonst all of the clientele looked like what one would see at the S&W Cafeteria at 4:00 pm for the early bird special. This usually strikes me a the death knell for a restaurant. But maybe I was wrong…Well, I wasn’t. The service was good and the food was reasonably priced, but the quality was very poor. We each ordered a sort of dinner combo that included a soup, egg roll, a small salad, and the entree along with a pot of hot tea. The rice was dry, and one of the entrees was stone cold. The portions were small, but again, for the proce, I would say that it was fair.The bottom line is that there are simply too many other good choices for Chinese food in Richmond. I am afraid that the Peking on West Broad will not remain for long.

  Outstanding Chinese food. Has been for many years. Best Chicken with Orange Peel in Richmond.
