The location at hill top:When I came in today I was greeted and informed the waiter that I was there to pick up my order I had called in 10 mins prior he directed me to another waiter. He then went to retrieve my order when I felt something hit me in the foot I looked down and don’t see anything and looked on the floor and could not see what had fallen or hit me so I moved from the bar to a table in the middle of the bar area when I was hit in the foot again. If this is how the staff at this location is going to act and treat paying customers then I will not go back and would not recommend this establishment to anyone else.
I ate at this joint last night because my girlfriend wanted to try it because she’s heard people talking about it. I was very unimpressed. The place was packed and I couldn’t figure out why. The food was just and I mean just average. Our waiter was pretty good and the fresh made at your table guacamole was pretty ok but if you’ve already got a favorite Mexican restaurant I highly recommend that you stay with them.
Wow! Awful!!!. We visited a short while back and it was good, BUT, last night it was the worst restaurant experience EVER in Virginia and, possibly, in the last 44 years of our dining experience together. Food was awful. No value here. Ripoff. Not what was advertised. Zero to less than zero service. This place needs to be put out of its misery. Please read my other hundreds of reviews. I do not slam places or write hurtful reviews. In this case, I cannot possibly overstate how bad this place is. Yuck!!!27 Jul, 2012Nothing like it in Tidewater!. Worst Restaurant Visit Ever. I went there last night with a party of seven. About a half hour after we ordered, our food started coming out but only four of the seven dishes came out. Then twenty minutes, another one of our dinner came out by then we called the manager over because waitress did not seem worried. He said he take care of us. Then the waitress came over to ask two of us without food what we order after being in the restaurant for hour and half. Then 15 minutes later the birthday girl finally got her food. Then the manager once again came to the table and asked me what I got and I said never mind I do not want it anymore. Then the manager (Mario) start to give me an attitude about what ordered so that he could cancel it in the kitchen but I do not think it was ever sent to the kitchen. Our waitress was new but no one seems to be training her and why would you give her a party of seven if she is not ready. Customer service is lacking here because not one of the server helped her out when she was in the weeds last night. Mario does not know how to handle the customer when a problem arises. They dropped the check off and gave no discount for anything (that really taking care of us). I believed that they would have dropped off a check for my pink lemonade if I had not stated that I was not paying when she asking how we were splitting up the checks. Then she dropped off the check and apologize about everything but then stood there awkwardly as we filled out our slips. The manager only took care of the birthday menu and brought tequila shots. Why would I want a shot if I never ate!! Worse Time Ever at a Restaurant!! We were just trying to have nice birthday dinner for our friend and no one ever ate there dinner because we waiting for all our food to come out. Never got any food and was yelled at it for it. If you have to go to El Taco Loco, go to the one on VAB Blvd near Plaza road, never had a problem at that location.

The best Mexican in the area. Great service. Their margaritas are good and strong just how I like em. They have the absolute best Chile Relleno I have ever had. The Super Chile Relleno is full of delicious chorizo sausage and cheese it really is the best. My glass and belly always stays full. You will not find me at any other Mexican restaurant period. Keep up the great service guys! Gracias!
