They throw pieces of shrimp at seated guests that they’re supposed to gulp in midair. I’m not a dolphin. The chef stained my shirt doing this. The food tastes okay but it is expensive

Shortsighted!. We went to have dinner here while on vacation. We love Japanese food but have two small children so don’t get to eat it very often. Being on vacation, we had no way of leaving the kids at home so picked up food they liked on the way to the restaurant. We’ve done this before when eating at other hibachi restaurants. Unfortunately we were told that the children could only eat food bought in the restaurant so we had to leave before even making it to a table. This seems to be an incredibly shortsighted policy! We were honest and upfront, we did not try to sneak the food in. I really don’t see the harm in the kids eating other food if it means that the restaurant gets our business…and we would have given them plenty of business having come ready to eat! Yes, the restaurant has a kids’ menu but it offers the same food as the main menu in smaller portions. Get a clue Otani….not all young kids (ours are 3 and 1) will eat food that they are not routinely given at home. Be flexible, allow kids to eat other food or offer more on your children’s menu. Our kids will never eat your food if we aren’t given the opportunity to bring them to the restaurant to see and try what we are eating! You are losing business now and from potential future customers!

NOT BAD AT ALL Great Service. I’d like to thank your restaurant for great food and service! I had my company party here where I invited all of my employees and they enjoyed it very much! Will be back soon.

Not worth the money. If you really want good hibachi, go to Sai Gai in Norfolk. This place is way overpriced for overglorified Mongolian BBQ.

So-So Food and Service. High Cost. Nothing really stands out beyond most other Japanese Steak Houses. It was better when they had Japanese owners and staff, but now it’s mostly anything but. The atmosphere is more like a Golden Corral than a quiet family eatery. We’ve been there about a dozen times over the past 10 years, and have watched the quality of service slide each time. Last time our cook kept dropping his knife while trying to do the same high school flipping trick. Sad.

3/5 Star – Hibachi is Hibachi. Pros: DecorCons: Playing with foodThoughts: Most of the Hibachi places that I’ve gone to… well let’s say ALL of them, have the same presentation, in my opinion, and this one is no different. The food is average as is the sushi. Maybe it’s the thought of people playing with their food that rubs me the wrong way.Alternatives: give your child a fork and spoon and they can play with and toss their food just like the pros.
