This definitely the best place to go for fried chicken. Over the years I have never had very good service but I usually call in my orders. They also have a good catering menu.

Stupid expensive. 8 chicken tenders and sweet potato fries 12 of them. I counted. $14.. Sad

A longtime ago…. Born and raised in Virginia Beach and have been going to Pollard’s since I can remember. Have used their catering service many times as well. If you can get passed a few of the rude cashiers, you’ll love the food!

Went there for the first time today. The cashier was rude and rolled her eyes at me, since it took me a while to order. I ordered an 8 piece chicken meal. Waited about 5 minutes for it. Got it…and the chicken was cold! The chicken tasted like it was sitting out for at lease a half an hour. What was I waiting for? The mac and cheese was a tad warm and so were the beans. But it all should have been hot! Another disappointment was that the chicken was supper salty and the mac and cheese was all mushy, didn’t even look like mac and cheese. The beans tasted like they were just dumped out of a can and heated in the microwave for 10 seconds. The bread that came with the meal was overly saturated with grease and was also cold. I will never go back to this place ever again. I would rather go to Popeyes. Just letting you know, so you don’t get disappointed. The Best of Hampton Roads award for this place is a joke. The probably gave incentives for people to vote for them like maybe a discount or something. Not worth it anyways, since the food is way overpriced for the non-existent quality. Never again!

They deliver time and time again.. This is from our catering on 9/6/2011. The goodness just keeps on arriving. This week we had Fried Chicken, BBQ (chopped), Baked Beans, Hush Puppies, Cole Slaw and Rolls. The quality of food, preparation and presentation has been outstanding week after week after week.03 Sep, 2011And even more Pollard’s…. :). This was our third time having them cater lunch in the last 4 weeks and it was another excellent meal. This week was a virtual Thanksgiving feast with pans of thick sliced turkey and ham. Mashed potatoes with a thick beef based gravy, green beans and rolls. Utterly delicious and so good I made a plate up and took it home for later.17 Aug, 2011Pollards Catering Week #2.. Another good meal but not as good as the first one. The catering and appearance was still excellent, however it didn’t stand out like the first time. This week was Chicken Parmesan, Rotini noodles, sauce, green beans and rolls. I found the chicken kind of dry. They used boneless breasts that had been slightly breaded and then a piece of Parmesan cheese melted on top. That’s fine, the sauce will take care of that, unless of course the sauce is the problem. The sauce they use had the consistency of a thick ketchup and was also very bland. The green beans were perfect as were the hot rolls. The presentation was great as well and they’re very professional. Just a little deficient in the sauce department. I included a couple of pictures this week too. See you next time!14 Aug, 2011Amazing Gravy. Here’s another review from my catered lunch series. This month we’re going with Pollard’s Catering (aka Pollard’s Chicken) and they do not disappoint.Last Tuesday we had delivered many pans of succulantly baked chicken along with fresh green beans, slaw, rolls and loads of mashed potatoes with chicken based gravy that was almost better than the rest of the meal. This was without a doubt one of the best catered meals I’ve had in recent memory and I’m really looking forward to seeing we end up with next time.
