The baked goodies are excellent but the coffee needs improvement -hey, just charge more. Price is no object when you can feel good about helping folks while eating sugar!!!!!
Great pastries. The apple Danish I had was brilliant and the rest of the food looked fabulous. If they had espresso machine coffee it would be worth eating in. They only have drip coffee flasks. I won’t eat in again, but I’ll be back for takeout treats.
My husband bought me the Mozart cake for my birthday last fall, bought the lemon cake for his mother’s birthday last week and we took my sister there ad well! We love this place and my sister and I shared the apple granola bar. THEY WERE AWESOME!! I’ve told my husband that my birthday will be coming around and that’s what I want for my ‘cake’!
Consistently Great!!. Many occasions I am fortunate enough to enjoy the baked goods offered by Sugar Plum . . . The Best Bakery in Virginia Beach in my humble opinion. The structure is something that you’ll always recognize when passing. A lovely trim on building that is similar to a plum’s color. The real greatness is once you’re inside. Beautifully spread out over a not so crowded area that is highlighted by a huge display case that is filled with an assortment of delights & don’ts that one could never be dissatisfied. Most times I go; it is for the Mozart Cake, but they do have a myriad of other items that our worth a taste. I have gone more than 25 times. Whether it is at 12:15 in the afternoon or 7:00 in the morning, I can for sure say this place is consistent. There’s no off days, there on, every single day, providing the best baked goods in Virginia Beach to the customers. Sugar Plum sets the bar high; not many bakeries in the area can match. Go see for yourself.

Great spot for an afternoon delight. My family and I stopped in here one afternoon to satisfy a random dessert craving. The pastries in the cases looked great, and the staff was nice. I got a napoleon, my cousin had a cinnamon roll, my aunt had an eclair, and my cousin’s future mother-in-law (say that 10x fast) had a cheesecake bar. Everyone was pleased with their desserts! 🙂
Phenomenal. Aside from what the bakery does to support the community, I absolutely love the mozart cake. I am still looking forward to try other cake flavors…I only wish I had this bakery do my wedding cake instead <3
