Great service at this location! The waiter was very knowledgeable and made several recommendations on drinks and food. The chocolate fondue is the real reason for going here and The Original is one of my favorites. I also enjoyed the California salad. The candied pecans and gorgonzola cheese really tied the salad all together. It just needed some red onion to be perfect. The Pacific Rim entree is ok but overpriced just like the rest of the entrees. The chicken pot stickers were tasty but also probably the cheapest for them to produce. I’d rather use the money to pay a seasoned cook to make the food, but the Melting Pot is a unique experience and is good for special occasions. This location seemed to have it together too.
For those commenting on the price, all Melting Pots have the same price and I’m sorry you didn’t research it before showing up.With that being said, I have been to many Melting Pots across the country and I love their restaurants. I now live in Norfolk so the Virginia Beach location has become my new regular location. The staff, food, and restaurant are always excellent. Even though I have been to multiple locations, this location does seem to have a higher level of customer service than others. The servers have new techniques I haven’t seen or heard before (roasting marshmallows in the flaming dessert dishes). They also offer additional dippers for the cheese and dessert a lot more than any other location I’ve been to.For those who have never been to a Melting Pot before, if you choose the standard 4 course option it will run you around $80-$120 for a couple. You can order everything individually, however. If you just want the cheese and main entrees, that is fine. If you just want a salad and the chocolate, that is fine.If you are just a couple, I’d suggest asking for a ‘Lover’s Lane’ table. They are two seater tables that have their own little area so they are more intimate.
