Fabulous Inn and Resort in Middleburg, VA!. I had the pleasure of eating at GoodStone this past winter, and must say…what a meal! Our party of two arrived at the inn on a chilly evening. We opened the door to a lovely sitting room with a cozy fire blazing. With such a warm and comforting ambiance, we knew we were in for a terrific time. We checked in with the kind host, who seated us in the formal dining room. We weren’t drinking that night, but did order iced tea, which was refreshing. To start, we both had the butternut squash soup, which was absolutely delicious…the flavors were spot on and the perfect way to start our meal. For our entrees, my dinner guest had the duck a l’orange. The chef nailed the flavor profile for this classic French dish – crisp skin, succulent meat, and a velvety citrus sauce. I ordered Goodstone’s award-winning Colorado rack of lamb…and it certainly did not disappoint! The garlic and parsley crust was delicious and the lab was cooked perfectly! While we skipped desserts because we had a long drive back home, we were thoroughly impressed with the food, ambiance and service at Goodstone and can’t wait to make it back out!
