The service wasnt the best but the food was phenomenal. The mofongo with carne frita was amazing ! The pork was cooked to perfection. The food made it worth going ! I recommend this place 100%
Horrible service!!!. Went to the Rican Chef and the service and food were horrible. The server was very unprofessional. Her appereance and attitude was terrible. It took around 40 minutes to have our food. We ordered 3 mofongos, 2 of those with shrimp. They poured the shrimp sauce over the mofongos, so instead of eating plantain with shrimp we were drinking a soup of shrimp. The sauce damaged the entire mofongos. Also, people don’t get these people fool you…. mofongos are not supposed to taste sweet!!! Mofongo is made of green plantain if not then this is not a mofongo instead this is called a pionono!! They charged us $23 per plate. In Puerto Rico you can have the same plate for $8.00.. They are super overprice…wow!! Then we were a party of 3 and after we got home we noticed that they auto included a tip of 12%!!! They robbed us!!! We should have revied that ticket while we were there, but we were in such a hurry because of the horrible experience. By the way, the waittres did not give us any drink refills and no napkins. Then it took us 11 minutes to get the check because she was folding some napkinsWe will never…ever recommend this place to anyone!!!!
Very good. The beans were phenominal! The mofungo was great…sweet plantains were good. The pork was a little overcooked but was still good. Next time i come I’m getting a huge bowl of beans….Awesome.! Not bad for the money….Will definitely eat here again.
Long wait. So-so food and service. Nothing special. Not worth the wait or the ride.
Horrible service, horrible food and Cafres. I have been to this place before, first of all the service continue being bad; you can be waiting for your drink for a long period of time when they are very busy they tell you give couple of minutes and that turns like thirty minutes. The owner wife can see you across the bar, and she won’t even ask if you want something to drink. Some of their family members are loud and Cafres; they have a lack of skills when providing customer services. Their yellow rice or Arroz Guisado looks as yellow as the Oompa- Loompa meaning way to much color; and not only that sometimes you can taste the rice not fresh; like if it has been made early and they just warm it recalentao. The Mofongo it is very greasy. Their prices are not the best not even mentioning when buying a portion of Tostones green plantain. I do not recommend this place and most of the people that I have tell them to try it just for their own judgment always tell me it was ok and they were not too happy specially with the services. I think I will Lola’s do a better job with Latin food.
Disappointed. The pork was tender but had no flavor but greasy fat. I prefer El Rincon Tropical down the road. The service here was ok. They would refill one drink at a time n couldn’t get anything right. I had to wait 5 minutes after I got my food to get silverware.
