Loved it. First time visit Christmas Day. Friends highly recommended it, and they were right. Excellent food. Excellent service. Will return. And thank you for being open on Christmas!pjle
Excellent Food and Service. We’ve been to this place many times since it has open and each time has been excellent. We’ve tried several different dishes to compare them to the neighboring restaurants and most dishes are either equal or better. The sushi is fresh and is made daily so no complaints. The owners are on hand to serve the customers and are always available. Thumbs up to this place for 2013 and hopefully many more years! Thanks! April
Major Disappointment. My girlfriend and I had been to Forbidden Palace three times prior to this visit…..the very first time was way over the top, the food was awesome and service was excellent…..the second time the food and service was not as good as the first time…..the third time not as good as the second time…..well guess what, the last time and fourth time that we went the service and food was not as good as the previous time…..wow…..to actually experience such decay of service and food was virtually overwhelming…..I wonder how my girlfriend and I can go back to the first time and our first experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!19 Oct, 2013Simply Delicious. My girlfriend and I ate at Bonefish Grille last weekend, we noticed a place next door called Forbidden Palace…..well I thought we were taking a chance by going there today for lunch…..we were blown area by the inside appearance, the warm welcome and the wonderful staff…..but then we ate…..the food was wonderful…..I ate Szechuan Shrimp and my girlfriend had Wor Mein Soup…..they were wonderful and the taste was out of this world…..we will be going back very soon……awesome service and awesome food…..wow!!!!!!

Excellent Food. I had the Szechuan Chicken with brown rice and it was awesome! The atmosphere was great and I love the extended hours on the weekend. I eat out a lot and this is the best fine dining Chinese Restaurant Ive eaten at in the Virginia Beach area.
This place is terrible. They out and out lied that they were owned by the same people that owned the old Forbidden City that used to be a couple doors down in the same shopping center. If they weren’t trying to ride on the coattails of a other’s success you’d think they’d at least come up with a new name and not try to tell people they’re associated. The food was awful. The Taipei fried rice was a disgusting joke, like a three year old three the I gradients together, raisins and dried scallops? I’ve had Chinese dried scallops, they’re delicious, these just seemed like scallops deep fried until they turned into scallop jerky. Another misrepresentation!! I’ve tried them twice now to give them a fair shake even though my conscience told me not to for lying about their ownership and it seems like sushi is only available in certain days. What a joke. Good luck, you obviously have no idea how to run a business.
Fantastic!. Had dinner at Forbidden Palace with my family a few weeks ago and the food was absolutely amazing! We ordered a number of different appetizers and entrees to share (the lazy Susan feature on the table made it SOO easy!) and every bit was more delicious than the last. Hands down, this meal was the best Chinese food I’ve had in Virginia Beach. In addition to the fantastic meal, the service was impeccable and the establishment clean and inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!
