Staff is always friendly. Food is always delicious. Been coming to mi casita for years. The combinations are good if you want some variety but my absolute favorite is the fried chimichangas.
Our favorite. My wife and I have been coming to Mi Casita’s for about 15 years. Our experience has been that the service is very polite, very quick, attentive. Two favorites are the beef fajitas and cold, draft Dos Equis. With a coupon (they run every week in the Virginian-Pilot’s Beacon) you can have a very delicious dinner for two for $20 before the tip.
Steer clear: find somewhere else to go. The food was under par and the service was terrible. I ordered fajitas, husband ordered a steak with chizoro (sp?) and chicken, my daughter got a kids enchilada. Everyone’s food came out one at a time. Not sure what everyone’s opinion is on this, but I like to eat as a family, not eat my food, then wait for my daughter and my husband to finish. The fajita meat and veg were stuck to the dish it was served on. It was virtually burned on in some areas. When all food was finally brought out, the waitstaff never asked if he could clear any of the plates that were used for our appetizer, chips, salsa cups, empty cups, dirty napkins. Our table was packed and the plates our entrees were served on we’re extremely HOT! I have a young child with me who could’ve burned herself if I did not surround the plate with extra napkins (after I asked for them). Throughout our meal, I saw out server 3 times. Each time he asked if we were done while we were still clearly eating and trying to enjoy ourselves. The server made us feel rushed, as if he wanted to get out for the day. Well, when we were finished and got our check, we waited about 10 minutes for someone to assist us with paying. (Seems like he must have not been in that much of a rush when it came time to pay). After we left, our waiter was busy outside working on a truck……. I wonder if he washed his hands before handling our food?I will NEVER return and I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
Yum!. Good food, friendly atmosphere, tasty ritas, and extremely reasonable prices.
Covers the bases.. Mi Casita is a serviceable, if not extraordinary, Mexican restaurant. The menu is slightly more diverse than most (a larger seafood section, most notably), and the prices are slightly higher than you might expect, but other than that there isn’t much to set it apart. That being said, I found the food to be quite enjoyable. Fish tacos, while unusually small, were well seasoned and prepared. The corn tortillas were a nice touch; I don’t see those very often in this area. I’ve had some combo meals on previous visits, and enjoyed everything except the red tomato sauce that was splashed over the plate. There’s nothing groundbreaking going on at Mi Casita, but they’re still turning out some pretty good food.
Nothing too special just your typical Mexican restuarant. The chicken poblanas was a new surprise. But should of came with rice and beans.
