I had dinner in here a while back with A friend and for the life of me I didn’t realize I hadn’t posted a review of it. The new location is nice. It’s in the building that used to host Fazoli’s at Lynnhaven Mall. It’s not easy to see from Lynnhaven Parkway, but if you hop on the parallel road that goes by Walmart then you can’t miss it. Again I want to point out the facility. When you went into Mi Casita at the old location down on Rosemont Rd you really thought you were in a hovel in Mexico. The new location is modern and very nice inside. There are new booths, tables, chairs, the works. Everything was clean and shiny. The food was decent and your average TexMex fair that we’re used to around here. I enjoyed the meal, and if I’m out this way I’d certainly have it on my list of options for a quick meal.
More of the same.. This is a standard Mexican American restaurant, with nothing to distinguish it from any of the others in the area. The other waiter on duty seemed pleasant enough, but we got stuck with a crazy-eyed fellow with English issues. Fish tacos would have been pretty disgusting had they not been served with a very tasty sauce that barely managed to drown out the flavor of the fish. This may be a subjective issue, as I’m not a big fan of tilapia served rare. There isn’t much else to report. It wasn’t an awful experience, but was awfully boring.
