Indistinct.. Napoli’s is the nearest pizza place to my house, so I wish I liked it better than I do. There just isn’t much to recommend, though. The cheese is more dense and the crust is more tough than I prefer, and the toppings are largely tasteless. On the one occassion that I tried something other than pizza, I ended up with a Caesar salad that contained green peppers and prepackaged croutons, and came with a dressing so thick that it could practically be considered a pudding. This review comes off as more harsh than I had intended, and this place really isn’t horrible. I just wish it was something more than mediocre.
Soooo Good!. This has become a favorite when I’m working the evening shift. I find they can be a little slow so if you don’t plan to dine in definitely call ahead so the food is waiting when you arrive. On the most recent carry out order I had a small peperoni, mushroom & onion. The veggies were definitely fresh and the crust was awesome. I think next time I’m going to try a calzone.19 Apr, 2011Don’t Blink Or You’ll Pass Them. Napoli’s is a small mom & pop type pizza parlor located on Va Beach Blvd in about the center of the city. The dinning room is cozy with only 3 booths and 2 tables.I finally made it over here for lunch yesterday and wasn’t disappointed. My lunch break ended up being around 4:30pm and I opted for a couple of slices and a drink. They let me know that there was only one slice of pizza left from their lunch pies and if I didn’t mind waiting a few extra minutes they would make a whole new pie. Done!Napoli’s serves a NY Neapolitan style pizza, however the slices aren’t as big as NY slice. The taste was outstanding, the dough was a medium thickness and obviously fresh with a nice crispness on the bottom side. Their sauce had a bit of a bitter edge to it which I prefer over sweet sauces and the pepperoni was premium grade. Last but not least the cheese was straight up mozzarella. Very good indeed. The one downside (to some people) was that it was an extremely greasy pizza. Make sure you grab some extra napkins. I’ll definitely go back.
