A great little barbecue places that serves you quickly and is very inexpensive. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal of their pulled pork sandwich with mashed potatoes and baked beans. I experienced friendly service and would definitely go back for lunch.
If you are looking for fantastic BBQ, look no further than Whitner’s!! We get take out from here at least every couple of weeks! The burnt ends are awesome, and the Mr. Whitner’s turkey sandwich is like thanksgiving dinner on a bun. And their Mac and cheese when they have it, it the best in town! I would recommend this to everyone!
The BBQ is pretty good just don’t get it as a sand-which to go or the bun will be drenched. The mashed potatoes are good but all the other sides are terrible. Green beans are straight out of a can.
This was the nastiest BBQ I have ever eaten! Gates is a BBQ restaurant in my home town of Kansas City, that Whitner’s tries and fails to mimic. I had ribs (which are my Fav) and chicken w/a B.B. pickles, and coleslaw. Just know my eat time was 30 secs before it was trashed. I’ll continue to order my bbq from home, Whitner’s just isn’t it.
Disappointed. Ribs were really chewy and at times hard to even get off the bone. Sauces were good. I just wanted some good ribs! Family liked pulled pork. Beans were strange for my taste. Coleslaw was pretty good and had great crunch. Potato salad was a little over powering. Two bites and I was done. Inconsistent.
This has to be about the best bbq around the area. The burnt ends alone are worth the visit. The only thing that has ever disappointed me was that twice I had been there and they had ran out of their fantastic mac and cheese. That’s heart breaking when that occurs but it doesn’t stop me from eating. Everything is perfectly smoked, the sides are wonderful and even the sauces are to die for. I must stop anytime your over at the Lynnhaven area
