Eh…. My husband and I went here for a friend’s birthday dinner. It wasn’t bad, but it was pretty unremarkable. I had a Caesar salad and the dressing was overly sweet. Caesar dressing shouldn’t be sweet! My pasta special was very cheesy, and while I like cheese it was a little much, plus I ended up with a big chunk of crab meat in my chicken pasta dish, and while I didn’t mind it could have been incredibly dangerous to someone with a shellfish allergy. My husband had the crab cakes and the guacamole appetizer and was unimpressed by both. The service was good, though. I wouldn’t avoid this restaurant but I wouldn’t seek it out, either.
Shrimp and Grits delicious. First time at Billy’s. I think it was very good. I recommend the Shrimp and Grits as that is what I had and it was so good!
I like Billy’s. Attentive service, good food and drinks. We go there often. Unfortunately the last 2 times we have been there for dinner the bar (which is a part of dining room) was so loud that table conversation was difficult at best. It’s a good place but they need to do something about the bar noise.
Very High End. We were downtown and happened upon this place. We went inside wearing jeans and a sweatshirt as it was chilly outside. Atmosphere is very high class. Our server knew that we were not ordering the expensive bottle of wine and kinda payed us no attention, wasn’t able to recommend a good dish. Appeared that everyone else there was dressed up very well and getting off from work. Food quality is so so, nothing about the meal impressed me. We were going to go for dessert and were simply presented with the check and never offered dessert as an option. More than likely my first and last time there.
Dined there recently. The grilled oysters were a bit salty. The shrimp and grits were superb….flavorful and not too heavy. The lemon cake was light and refreshing. My wife’s lamb chops weren’t the best (way too fatty). Service was very prompt and attentive. Overall a solid dining choice but perhaps a tad overpriced.
I dined at Billy’s earlier this evening, and I must say dinner was absolutely delicious! From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed by the beautiful ladies up front. We sat by the window which made our experience even more enjoyable. Our server was very knowledgable regarding the menu and helped us choose the perfect dinner! I had the new lamb chop lollipops & my husband had the famous crab cakes which are always to die for. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for an enjoyable dining experience. It’s the best place Roanoke has to offer in my opinion and I can’t wait to return!
Best dining experience I’ve ever had. Last Saturday my family and I dined at Billy’s and our experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in the door we felt so incredibly welcomed. Our service was absolutely phenomenal. Our servers were extremely quick and efficient with our orders and could have not been nicer. The food was outstanding as well, especially the lamb chop lollipops. The restaurants manager Colin also checked on our table to make sure our experience was up to par which we truly appreciated. Billy’s is undoubtedly the best dining establishment my family and I have ever experienced and look forward to our next visit.
