So good, I needed to go twice!. Being in town for only two weeks of Army training usually means that I’m out to hit the best restaurants I can find for one time only. But Bev’s had the distinction of being the only place I went to twice while being in Richmond. What’s not to like? The cool, reclaimed building that it was in? The homemade ice cream and treats? The friendly service from two different but very attractive females? Yes, yes and yes. Each time there was only one girl behind the counter but I was quite surprised at how quick the line would move. This was a good thing because those waiting for a dessert as good as this don’t like to wait for a while. Coconut-Peanut Butter ice cream was the bomb with two flavors that I loved separately, but now love together. I now dip my butterfingers in a jar of coconut oil at home just to reminisce about this unique flavor combo. Then the next night i had raspberry chocolate chip which I knew would be ridiculously good…and I was right. I’m so smart.So there you have it, all thumbs up from me and my buddies that went with me (they played a large part in demanding to go here twice as well). I can’t wait to go back.
There were six people behind the counter, but only two were actually working. The ice cream is nothing special and the customer service is no good. I would have had a better experience if I just went to the store and picked up some ice cream myself.
I took my family to bev’s for the first time recently. I could not believe how rude the lady behind the counter was to my daughter. Long story short I had to explain to my 10 year old daughter that she had not done anything wrong and that some people are just mean because they are unhappy themselves. I will never go back to bev’s! EVER!!!
Best Ice Cream, occasionally awful service. I love Bev’s, I live around the corner and it’s a guilty pleasure.You will not find better ice cream in the city.The only issue, is some of the employees are incredibly rude. I’m almost 40 and the worst treatment I’ve ever received, in my life, ANYWHERE from an employee was from a young woman working the counter at Bev’s. It’s hard to imagine, and even harder to describe completely, so I’ll just leave it at that.It should be noted this is not always the case, some of the employees are friendly enough, but goodness, were I not such a fan, and the place not so convenient, I certainly would have considered taking it off my list in the face of such staggering rudeness.
Wrong flavor!!. THis place would have been better, if they would have gotten the flavor correctly. By bf got the ice cream he wanted. I ordered Butterfinger and they gave me Banana flavor. I told the person behind the counter this and she said that I ordered Banana, and had a pissy attitude with me. SORRY I will not be back.14 Apr, 2012Wrong ice cream… The place would not been bad if they would have given me the correct ice cream flavor. I asked for Butterfinger and they gave be Banana. That should not have been mixed up. I will not be back.

Horrible Customer Service for sub par ice cream. My girlfriend and I went to Bev’s on Tuesday. Safe to say that we had a horrible experience. The lady at the counter was rude and seem to be pissed off at something and it showed! She rush us through our orders and she just threw our ice cream around. The strawberry smoothie I order tasted like sugar water and the brownie sundae my girlfriend order was hard as a rock and the ice cream was way to hard to eat. I wanted to ask for a refund, but I had already paid for it and started drinking and eating the Sunday. I’m not asking for compensation of money, I just want an enjoyable experience at BEV’s on the house!
