No really, Dont Look Back. When you are walking down Cary St and you walk past this establishment, don’t look back. This is a restaurant run by jerk offs who try and fail at their Mexican food. I’ve had better food made by a shaved monkey with a broken arm than these dimwits. NOT GOOD & A RIP OFF LOL!
My favorite. I love this place, come here as much as I can without burning out. The tacos are delicious, I love the corn taco, and even the chips are great! Their guacamole is very, very good and you get a ton for the price.
Didn’t look back.. We walked in to the right place at the right time. The service and food was excellent. Our server clued us in to their special as soon as we got in, and we were able to have one of the last beef tongue tacos of the night. It was delicious, and I’m not big on beef tongue. Staying with the true theme of a prime taco spot, the tequila menu was reasonable and the extra dollar for a margarita was definitely worth it. Overall, the best tacos I’ve had in a long time. The portions were perfect, and the prices fantastic. A real Cantina, what did you expect?

Lacking…. I am such a fan of the food trucks and had great food at the truck that inspired this restaurant. I have heard such great things about Don’t Look Back, and I couldn’t wait to try it. I love simplicity in dining, and I was very excited at the concept of take your own small menu, seat yourself, and choose a taco. Perfect. If you’re going to use this as your premise, your food should be good. If tacos are your main item, then they should be fantastic. I had 3 mediocre tacos, one chorizo, one beef, and one fish in the traditional (not gringo) style. The meats were dry and flavorless, the tacos were small and unremarkable. And although I don’t like waitstaff fawning, a little attention to detail would have been nice such as silverware (never got it) and a water refill. Overall, I think this place could be remarkable and I love the concept, but in reality it is disappointing and not worth the trip.
