What’s the name of that great french bakery in Cary Town? Can Can?? NOPE! It’s Jean-Jacques! The restaurant is empty so you can always find a seat. Their display case is full of stale baked goods, so you have your pick of anything you could want! Best part is you don’t have to worry about having mindless chit chat with the owner because because she is rude as crap, and will do whatever she can do to make you feel unwelcome. Life Pro Tip: Better stay in the freezer a little longer next time, 30 seconds longer and we would’ve just walked out and avoided the disappointment.
Stale Black Forest cake. I have purchased cakes from Jean-Jacques for my sons’ birthdays for approximately the last five years. Prior to this year, they have been fabulous! The cake we had this weekend was not good; the cake was dry and stale, and the icing was extremely sweet. This cake looked the same as our previous cakes, but the quality completely disappeared. However, the person behind the counter was very helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, I will be shopping for a new bakery.
