Gorgeous location on Cary and Sheppard, The Daily has one of the best people-watching venues in their outside dining area. Though I love it outdoors, their main dining room is also nice, understated and trendy. A balanced menu with familiar tastes as well as fun vegetarian and health-minded dishes, this is the kind of food stay at home parents and 30-somethings wish they could make for themselves but cant find the time or skill to do so. Common ingredients are so well done here, elevated by the cooking staffs skillful application, that every single dish I have tried has been amazing. Start with a simple steak and potatoes to see what I mean; if you appreciate food at all, youll be excited by how a standard can be so nicely done.
Had the Catch of the Day, guacamole appetizer and brownie dessert! All of it was delicious and tasted very fresh. The brownie dessert is definitely for those who don’t like super sweet desserts – made with dark chocolate. The inside of the restaurant is also very nice and unique.
We’ve been here several times and the first experience was great. Good food for a fair price. The last time we went unfortunately we were bombarded by flies that seemed to be coming in the restaurant due to their open atmosphere. This was a complete turnoff and we haven’t considered going back after that. I wish that wasn’t the case because the place is beautifully decorated, the service is usually good and the food is great. What a bummer..
The atmosphere of the restaurant is what brought me in. It was a beautifully done restaurant and the service was great. The food looked amazing and the menu was extensive even for people on special diets which I appreciated. I ordered a vegetarian burger since nothing else appealed to me on the brunch menu. My sister ordered a tofu bbq burger which she thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered a side of goat cheese salad which was very small but tasted great. The vegetarian burger was really under cooked, I’m not sure if it was supposed to be but the texture was as if eating through a raw burger, not appetizing at all, and it was falling apart and oozing out of the bun. The same thing happened to my dad so it was not a one time mistake. I wasn’t happy with my meal but everyone else was so this restaurant deserves credit for its atmosphere and food other than the vegetarian burger.
Very poor entry.. Had the name and count for our reservation wrong. Then crammed 7 of us into a table for 6 right next to the kitchen door.Going to be a big hole to dig out of.
Richmond has much better places to eat.. Lunch was bad and service was worse. Not worth the money or the rude waiter.
3rd time’s a charm…or is it?!. So I want to like this place so bad. I’ve given it three chances, two brunch (today included) and one dinner. all three time we sat at the bar as we typically find better, quicker service there. No much different then usual but the service is pretty slow, the drinks are good but the first two tines my food didn’t come out or came out wrong this time the burger I ordered was a FROZEN patty!!!! I couldn’t even believe it. cone on guys get it together…rva wants you to succeed but not with frozen crap.
