Part convince store part cafe, cafe paramount is a unique establishment. I had a chicken gyro and it was pretty good. There is a large selection of paninis too.
I used to frequent this place in June and July as I was staying and working nearby. The owner was very friendly and greeted everyone who came in. The sandwiches were good with fresh ingredients. I had returned to Crystal City and decided to try it again. The employees, not the owner, didn’t greet me and there was little order to the line. I ordered a turkey club sandwich; ten minutes and $7.50 later, I was given a turkey club panini (you can specify sandwich, panini or wrap). When I told the employee I wanted the sandwich, not the panini, she said all the sandwiches were panini. Finally, hungry, tired and needing to get back to work, I left the order at the counter. I guess with increased popularity comes decreased customer service. They probably don’t care, but they’ve lost a customer.
