The enchiladas were standard Mexican restaurant fare. They were not outstanding but not bad either. The chips were served warm – which gets points from me and the margarita was tasty as well.
Service was non-existent until I complained. Salsa is watery with a texture of broth. They accommodated my not on the menu choice of three tacos. The carne asada was dry. Did not come with garnishes except for a little chopped cilantro which was not enough for three. The carnita was okay. Side of black beans in water with no seasoning. Rice was bland.
Bad Green Chile. I’m from Colorado and we enjoy green chile with a meal. The San Antonio Bar & and Grill cant seem to figure it out, Green Chile is not a paste that is spread onto buritos or enchiladas, would not recommend this place to eat.
Service was ok. Food not as good. The ser ice ok was ok but I ordered the pepper steak and it wad marginal. The sauce was good but the steak was thin and overcooked with poor color. Medium well was over well. The side salad came with no dressing. The rice had a strange taste….
The food is bland. For mexican food, I expected a little spicy. I didn’t even drink all my water. The food needs more spices. The salsa was good, but that’s the only thing I even enjoyed. Would not recommend to anyone.
Ok it’s Mexican food so it will never be the best food. But smoking isn’t allowed anymore in this town so previous reviews on that are dated. Happy Hour prices are good. Wait staff a bit slow. Good chops and salsa. We had a $25 gift certificate from http://www.restaurants.com that we got for $5. So go online first.
It is a dump, cheap drinks, food and lots of smoke. I only stop here after work on Fridays with one or two friends for a quick drink. The food is bad, room noisy and smoke filled.Don’t eat the food, go to Jaleo or one of the nicer restaurants in crystal city.
