Great Place. The Rose
The food was extremely good, however, the restaurant was dirty, lipstick marks were on two of the water glasses, & the service was nothing less than awful!!!! We sat for almost 40 min following our meal before we even saw a server to clean our table & another 25 min before we received our check! Unfortunately, we will never come back no matter how good the food is, not only because of the service but also because of the cleanliness!
One of my favorite restaurants!. We have visted the Rose & Crown numerous times, and it NEVER disappoints! We are always greeted with a smile & seated promptly. The service is excellent & our order is correct. The food….EXCELLENT! You will never taste spoon bread like this anywhere…PERFECTION! I love the fried green tomatoes & the devilled crab stuffed flounder. Unlike other restaurants that attempt fine cuisine, this place is not overpriced. Always visit there on special occasions….the ambience is very soothing.Overall, it is a must try for anyone. Unfortunately, it is definitely New Kent’s best-kept secret! But now that the secret is out…give it a try!
Recently paid a visit here with a large party, we had a reservation for our group but for some reason our server was covering an entire dining room alone and was really being spread thin. The food was decent, but I really loved the spoon bread they served. Hopefully service issues can be addressed, although it definately wasn’t our servers fault.
Completely overpriced. Food is good, but not that good. At least its a restaurant in the county, though.
A great experience. This place has ambiance, great food at great prices and they treat you like royalty! Such a surprise hidden deep in New Kent County.
