Good solid seafood, accommodating staff. Came here with friends with special dietary needs, and waitress put dressing and cheese on the side, dropped the side potatoes and added more broccoli. Very decent crab cake without filler, sauted spinach was smooth and flavorful. Salad nothing special, but tasty vinaigrette . Felt the steamed shrimp was overcooked and a bit dry.
Weekly visits to Lucky O. People talk about the crowd because it’s that good. The dining area may get full but the bar can be packed. I’ve never had a time we couldn’t get seated. Service is still great when they’re at capacity. Happy hours deals are really affordable. I love sitting at the raw bar and getting oysters on the half shell. If you like classic American dishes and/or raw bars, check this place out.
SHRIMP APP?. Don’t get the new shrimp appetizer for $9.99 on the new inserted menu. You would think that a shrimp appetizer would have at least 6 decent size shrimp, not in this case. You get 4 small shrimp probably 41/50s, the buffalo blue cheese dipping sauce was good but the dish it came in was enough sauce for a couple dozen wings. Wish I took a picture!!!
Always a good experience. This is a nice family seafood restaurant. I’ve been going to Luck Oyster a couple time a month for a couple of years now and it’s always a positive experience. Of course there may be a wait sometimes because they are so popular but you can always get a table in the bar area. I’ve never had to wait. The food is always hot and tasty and the service friendly. One of the best places to eat at the interior of Virginia beach.

Good not great. Oysters were small but fresh…platters did not fill me up, service was good. If their aim is to impress as a seafood restaurant they do not, but as a small mom n pop that is well run and has a martini bar it is great. Stop by for lunch and you should be ok.
A total bust. I dined with friends last evening for restauarant week and ordered the Snapper dinner special. It was a total bust. The Rockefaller oysters left a lot to be desired, mostly cheese and little taste. The Snapper over risato was served heat lamp warm and it was all dried out. The fish had to be cut with a knife, like chicken, and the serving size was small as the palm of your hand. Even the keylime pie,which was dried out, though tasty enough.This was not our first less than ordinary meal here. But we gave it a final try.
