This restaurant has the best Indian food around. Im so glad it was suggested to me after trying many others in the Towncenter and Norfolk areas! If you are looking for a variety of well made dishes, this is for you.
Masala Bites is, at least in my view, the best Indian restaurant around these parts. When I came the first time, I was sure I wasn’t going to care for it. No buffet for lunch. Come again? No lunch buffet! This is heresy to the hundreds of Indian gods! Well, my tune changed when I got the food. First off, it is presented in an eye-appealing manner. Modern plates and tear-drop bowls all served up in a sophisticated up-to-date chic decor is a decent enough start. But it’s the food quality that far surpasses any buffet that gets me. I usually jump straight for that naan-a concoction with that crispy on the outside, stretchy on the inside, finger-singeing hot-hot-hot bread made of super-fine flour, fresh out of the tandoor oven with a brush of melted butter, which transports me on an express train to gastronomic nirvana. And let me tell you, this naan at Masala Bites does not let me down. Yum. But it’s the made-to-order dishes that get me back again even though it’s out of my way from my side of town. They are really well prepared and generously portioned. I never leave this place with a morsel of spare space in my glutted gullet. What’s more, for the price, you get to pick an appetizer and a main dish. I truly do not miss those buffets anymore. About the service, the staff has been trained to deliver a more Western style of customer-oriented behavior. The greeting is instant, the servers are friendly and excited to make suggestions, and the kitchen is efficient. Go there on your lunch break and you won’t get yourself in hot water for taking too long. I can’t help you though, if you dose off at your cubicle with that heavenly glow of food coma bestowed by those Indian gods. That’s on you, or maybe Ashoka or one of the other yoga-posturing gods will grant you a cup of coffee.
