Repeated confusion. We ordered a pizza to go at the place. The waitress was unfriendly and it seemed that we were bothering her. Forty minutes later there was no pizza. When the order was checked it was all wrong. The only thing the owner’s daughter Laurie could say was that the restaurant was busy. We walked out. I don’t know how much more straight forward you can get with a single pizza order. Unfortunately this is not the first time we have had problems at this place. I hope they get better staff-they need some Charlie’s angels in there!
Charlie’s is wonderful. Such a laid back atmosphere, very friendly staff and cool decor to meandor. It’s a dive, a LOCAL dive. Do not go if you’re expecting some fancy-shmancy experience. The food is great, I love supporting our small business and Charlie’s is a great one to support. It’s been around forever!
Linda. I took my two grandsons (9 & 12 years) to Charlie’s American Cafe Sunday morning, after the waiter took our order another two tables came in and their orders were taken. We waited, and waited, and waited, our waiter stopped by after about 30 minutes and refilled the boys drinks, I asked if our food would be there soon to which the waiter stated it was on the way. Then one of the later tables food was delivered to their table and then the other table was served, After 45 plus minutes or so of waiting and being hungry and the boys freezing, we left. As we were leaving the hostess said our food is coming right now. Will I be returning NOT!PS – Since I’m venting, I have to say the place is rather dingy and could use an update.
Very average food. Kitchen left one of the sides off of plate and we could not flag the server down since he was also acting as cashier and busboy. Fine if you need a quick bite and are in the neighborhood but not worth seeking it out.
Went here with my husband Thursday night for a last minute dinner date. We loved it. We both had the butterfly shrimp with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. Adam was our server and was very helpful and attentive. The young lady at the bar was also very friendly and helpful to her customer. I wish I knew her name because she was great. I can’t wait to go back again. Please try this place. I hope you will enjoy as much as we did.
Three strikes and YOU’RE OUT! This place is just bad. Bad menu, bad food and well, just bad. The omelets are bland at breakfast, the burgers are uninspired and I don’t know what sort of meat was in my wife’s fried okra but nobody seemed to care! I’ve eaten here three times with nothing good to say about any visit. Never going back!
Never again. Went in to order omelette, fries and biscuit. No home fries and no biscuit even though it’s breakfast. Not happy. Had to ask for coffee. Two people next to me had to ask to be waited on even though it wasn’t busy and there was two waitresses on duty. Then come to find out there is a gas leak so had to leave. Bad service, lack of food. Won’t be back.
