Wrong time of day?. We can into the place mid-evening and we were blown away by the prices and daily specials, but we were not impressed by the quality or preparation of the food (It never really is acceptable for a taqueria to microwave anything more than individual components.) Pre-prepared and assembled enchiladas and throwing already baked enchiladas is no way to keep customers coming at any price. The rice was dried out and the beans runny. If you are looking for a bargain luncheon price, consider going and trying it. For dinner or a proper sit down, the price does not mesh with the quality. Will return for specials but never for anything else.
Best Tacos this side of Texas!
Great Place. This is more of a take-out location since there isn’t much room to eat, but the food is amazing. My wife and I love coming here. We used to live right down the street, but recently moved to Hampton so we can’t enjoy it as much anymore. I’ve never ordered anything from here that I didn’t like.
Should have been better….No heart in the food.. While it’s small and the food reminds me of SoCal, it falls short in several areas. If you like your meat tougher than a stick of beef jerky and don’t mind loosing a couple of teeth in the process of GNAWING on your food, this is for you. Rice was good, Beans were meh. The flour tortillas were good, but the salad was pitiful and the cheese nachos were nearly burnt. Went by the reviews, sorry to say it was bad experience. Must have been an off day for them?
Small place with excellent food, authentic and very tasty. #16 very large portions. Tender meat, rice is outstanding. Handmade tortillas. Will go back soon.
Absolutely delicious. Food is made to order so you may want to call ahead but the food is amazing and a great value!
El Mejor Restaurante Mexicano. Was always eating at chain Mexican restaurants dissapointed. been in the area for almost 14 years born in Mexico raised in South Texas. This is just like Mom’s cooking. and for the one complaining about slow service, he can just go to Taco Bell!! Longest i waited any given time is 8-10 minutes at most. It is definitely worth the wait.
