Ridiculously Slow. I’ve eaten at Mike’s twice. Make sure you have over an hour to kill for lunch because you’ll need it. The first time I went, we arrived at 11:15am. I went with 5 people. The veteran’s of this place knew we had to get there early because they’re extremely slow. It took 45 minutes before we were all served- and it wasn’t busy. Some people got their orders 35 minutes later, some 40 minutes and my order took 45 minutes (I was the only one to have a salad, the rest got sandwiches- why did a salad take 45 minutes?) A couple of weeks ago, I went in there around 11am to order lunch to-go. I stood in line for 20 minutes (behind 6 people). I waited another 40 minutes for my order (a gyro). While I was waiting for my order, a group of three came in that apparently was friends with the staff and they got their to-go order in 15 minutes (sandwiches and salads). On their way out, they asked how long I’d been waiting and I said ‘way too long’. At that point, I considered going to the Wawa across the way just so I could get back to work quickly- despite the loss in money. I’ve worked in the restaurant business for years and I can’t tell you how ridiculously slow these people are. Every time someone they knew came in, it was another 5-10 minutes of conversation while people were waiting for their orders. It’s fine to interact with your customers, but multi-task. The gyro was cold by the time I got it and I was shocked at how much I paid for such a small sandwich with no sides. I left thinking I’d never go back. This is why my group at work doesn’t go here more than once every four months or so. The food is good, but who has that kind of time for lunch?
AMAZING. I’ve been going to Mike’s since i moved to the Norfolk area three years ago and will continue to go.. The Gyro’s are by far my favorite and the pizza is great. The staff is VERY friendly and always put a smile on my face when i’m there… Only wish they would deliver farther .. as in to my area lol

Their pizza wasn’t good at all! I can’t say about the other menu items but the pizza tasted cheap and awful. Rubbery, nothing special crust, flavorless sauce packed with pepper flakes to attempt some kind of flavor, and cheese that flops off the pizza. Never again! Also, they charge you for refills! We needed a box, hoping it’d taste better cold, and I was afraid I’d be charged for one!
Awesome pizza!!! Haven’t had anything else because it’s just too good not to order. Just wished they were open on Sunday. But I get it why they aren’t.
Old Faithful. Great food, big portions, family owned and run. All the things you want in a local place. Spend your money here vice the chains. You will not be sorry.
Excellent!. Just visited Mike’s for the 1st time and I have been missing out on some great food. I had a simple meatball and sausage sub with cheesecake..just perfect. Now I will have to get my girls there for some pizza..looking forward to it. Support your family owned restaurants! I do!
