IT SUCKED!!!. It SUCKED! went for location. im in from out of town but have lived in hampton roads most of my life. the service was acceptable.. i work in the hospitality industry myself. and i mean only acceptable. the food was wretched! we had steak bites that took nearly 30 mins that were cold… at the same time we ordered them we ordered another app that came 10 mins later…cold as well (sent back to be reheated). the server told us we should have told her the steak bites were cold to have them off the bill…. and we would have but she never came back to check on us after the drop. then we ordered a burger and a seafood platter and a surf and turf. absolutely disgusting! my dog eats better! requested to talk to a mgr whom was Diana. She said she would take the bites off and while she was walking away i made it very clear that we didnt enjoy or eat anything! she took $10 off my $120 check… REALLY? ps. my friend had to ask the hostess for a steak knife… the butter knife didnt work… and butter… and cocktail… never even saw a lemon… hmmmmm ? seafood? pier? $120 crappy… so disappointed! thought about a reception there… not so much.
Have given this place two tries, being a native of OV. First time we ordered nachos…. Yeah, it had processed sliced cheese on it…. In slice form…. Second time tried fish tacos, they were inedible. Place is a joke. Make the drive to Va Beach to get real seafood.
It’s a shame that as a resident of Willoughby I cannot go here for quality food and service. The good reviews make me question if these patrons have ever had good service and food because the OV Pier isn’t it. I’ve been six times over the last several years and each time was worse than the time before. The food is horrible. The prices are way off base and unless you’re sitting at the bar, forget timely and friendly service. Whether you’re looking to eat there or work there….keep moving. Try Surf Riders near Little Creek and Shore Dr. Or just go to the grocery store and make it yourself. We will never be back unless someone else is paying and we’ve eaten beforehand.
Terrible Service and Food!! Not worth it!!. I came here with my family before I was set to go on deployment and the experience still haunts me. When we came on a Saturday evening the place was rather empty. Which I found to be odd. There wasnt anyone seated at the tables just a few people at the bar with drinks. Are waitress took a very long time to get to us for drink orders. The drinks took forever to come out. And the seafood was the worst I have ever tasted and took so long I thought they had to go catch it. I voiced the concerns to the manager whom was very unpleasant and less than accomodating. I would never come here again. I hope they go out of business and someone else takes over cause the location is great.
Great Experience. My friends and I just got home from a Sunday lunch and we all agreed we would go back. The server was friendly and fast. Of course the view was amazing. And I was very surprised at the food. Very tasty. Was it a 4 star restaurant? No, but I would certainly go back. 2 of us got the fish tacos and they were very good. Their house dressing was tasty and I even asked for the recipe. Someone also got the steamed shrimp and they were huge! She ended up bringing some home. Loved the atmosphere and would love to go back. Give it a chance!
Amazing – Don’t listen to the whiners. I’ve been a server for years now, and something tells me the negative reviews on here come from people who don’t realize that servers have other patrons and obligations and can’t be their personal servants. Was it the best seafood ever? No, but it was very tasty. I received excellent service, but then, I don’t expect my server to stand on call for only me. If you are looking for a place to have some good drinks with a great view and some pretty good food, this place is great. Don’t listen to the whiners on here.
Love it!!. We had a fabulous dinner, beautiful view, excellent service! The fish tacos and fish of the day were awesome! You should re-visit if you haven’t been in a while! This is one of my favorite places to eat! I absolutely love it!
