This once widely popular locals Pub has been bought and had the name changed to Willoughby by the Bay the new owner has not a clue how to manage and run a successful locals bar and has turned this place into a morgue like atmosphere . I would not recommend. We were only table in the restaurant, food took 90 minutes to arrive. My wife’s shrimp scampi was cold. They did take it off the bill. I doubt we will be back to eat.
I just left from there and honesty I don’t see how it could be anything less than 5 stars. We are not from the area and they were honestly some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Both the owner and the waitress were sweet. The food was great. I had the chicken sandwich and it was AMAZING! It’s a must have. And to top it off the view was great and they had live music playing great classic songs. Next time I’m in the area I’m going back for sure.
Crappy Food, Lousy Service, Idiots. I used to hang out here a few years back when I was stationed at the Naval base. The food was always mediocre. What was worse was the attitude problem all the wait staff seemed to have. On Friday and Saturday night they had the worse karaoke guy in there – I think his name was Paul – and a bunch of white trash patrons. Pretty much the same drunks rocked the same bar stools on those nights and during the lunch hour in the middle of the week. If my best friend hadn’t insisted on us going there, I would’ve quit after the first time. Don’t waste your time. There was better food and entertainment down the road a couple miles at Greenies.
Great bar but the food is terrible. The seafood was just average. I ordered broiled and got fried. What was that about??? The She Crab soup wasn’t that good as I remembered from years back. The place has gone downhill and not nearly as good as it was years ago. The dining room was too hot to eat in and stuffy, very uncomfortable.
It’s simply a dive. But a good dive….
