I’m generally pretty dismissive of buffet places, but Buffet Star was pretty good. I went here for lunch and was impressed with the wide variety of things they offer, not all of which are covered in a disgustingly sweet sugary glaze. They had baked fish, plantains, dumplings, wontons, and even decent sushi. The General Tso’s chicken was standard take-out quality, but the other stuff I had was good. They also have a Mongolian grill where you can go down a line and pick out your meat and veggies, top it with whatever flavors or oil you want, and then the cook will supply the heat. The only thing I though was missing from the line was a jar of peanuts. They have a few suggested recipes as a guide, but of course you can throw together whatever you like. They also have a wide variety of desserts. As is typical with buffets, I ate too much, but I enjoyed the meal. The place seemed pretty clean during my visit and I will probably return for another lunch outing sometime.
