TASTE IS DIFFERENT.. When is was zero sub the meat taste like boars head meat very good. But now it taste like they went to food lion and bought there brand of deli meat with no taste. What a waste of my money. No more. From 1 to 10 i used to give zero sub a 9 now Hampton Hoagie get a 1 or 2. tasteless food.
New name, but food lame. I was excited when I learned that this place was separating from the Zero’s chain and becoming Hampton Hoagies. I thought it’d be nice to have a local sandwich shop, but the place still very much resembles Zero’s and the food might be worse. The cheesesteak is ok but forgettable. There are much better cheesesteaks to be found in Newport News so don’t bother with one here. The meatball sub was just not good. There was really no flavor to the sauce. It was like tomato sauce from a can with no hint of oregano or any kind of seasoning. It was just a runny, bland sauce. The staff was friendly, but the food is not worth my money.
