Cozy pub with excellent food. Have been there twice and will definitely make it a weekly stop. One of the best bartenders I’ve seen. Your glass will not sit empty at this place. I lived in Germany for 7 years, and this place has a European feel with American paced service. The best of both worlds. The shepherd’s pie is great, with market fresh veggies. I’ve never had rare bit before, but was delicious. I cant wait to try the other menu items.
What a fantastic hidden gem in Petersburg, VA! Fried oysters over slaw, green tomato caprese and cheese grits w spicy shrimp and homemade sausage. Unbelievable food and great IPA’s! Highly recommend to anyone working in the Richmond, VA area!
Great Place. Excellent place to get dinner or a drink. A two-room pub, both sides are fairly small (seating for approx 30 in the first, 40 in the second). It has a cozy, friendly atmosphere like you expect from traditional pub attempts…also no TVs (a bonus to me). The staff knew the menu well and were professional the entire time. I ordered the Irish Nachos as an appetizer, which were average. My entree was the Steak Frites, which came out as steak tips, frites, and asparagus. The steak was phenomenal and definitely did not require any sauce. My friend ordered the Brick Chicken and thought it was delicious. It came with mashed potatoes and spinach. The only negative was a long wait for our food, so I would recommend an appetizer to fill the time/hunger void. Also, they have some good local brews on tap.
On the road and found this little gem. Fantastic! The Rarebit was yummy and the oyster burger special was tasty. All washed down with a classic English Ale.
Dessert to die for, for chocolate lovers order the Chocolate Pot. Absolutely a must if you are any where close to Petersburg. The menu is great with a eclectic selection, but the MUST is the chocolate pot dessert. We used to live in the area but moved away 7 years ago. Ever since we moved we have searched out a dessert that would equal the sinful chocolate pot. We’ve searched everywhere and come up with nothing. So when we were in Virginia visiting friends and family we had to make the trip to have the chocolate pot again.
Nice little puberaunt. I’ve been to Brickhouse several times, either for drinks or dinner. They have a fairly decent selection of beers for this area. I’ve been very pleased with everything I have eaten here especially the duck breast. FANTASTICALLY executed, moist, and cooked perfectly. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place if you have smaller kids but for teens and adults, it’s very warm, charming decor and good food.
Typical Irish Food, well done though. I’ve been here 3 times with friends during the lunch hour. The food was perfect for the price and usually came out hot and tasty. Irish food is pretty bland by my standards, but this was above average and the decor around the place is very charming. If you take a close look at most of the things around the restaurant, you can tell that they did a great job of finding some very fascinating antiques.I hear this place really comes alive (as well as the menu offerings) during the dinner hours. I’ve never been during then, but would’ve liked to.I would advise those that are looking for an early lunch, because I think they have weird or inconsistent days/hours of operation. This might not be true now, but we were surprised on more than one occasion to show up and they were either closed for the day, or didn’t open on time.
