Reasonably priced food. I enjoy going to the Dixie mostly for the environment. I like that you can get lunch without having to spend $20. The food is good, and the menu has a lot of selections. Service depends on who you get, sorry to sound sexist but the men are friendlier and far more attentive to the customers than the ladies. The Petersburg Club was great, but I’ve tried the Chicken and Dumplings twice now and found them just too bland. Although I don’t rave about every aspect of this place, I will continue to go back because it’s just a nice little place to go to. Oh, and it’s clean… they get extra bonus points for that!
Southernly Charming. What’s not to like? Charming storefront Dixieland diner located in the heart of old town Petersburg. Restaurant operating since 1921 with periodic updates that keep it fresh while maintaining its connection to its past in its current decor. Courteous, attentive, and gracious wait staff. Some who’ve been there for decades. Settle into a nice booth or pull up to the counter and start a interesting conversation with a local patron. And did I mention, the breakfast/brunch? Standard southern, down home fare with enough nuance to keep it all fresh. This diner’s busy because the food is real and real good.

Very nice place. The food was great, the service was excellent and the restaurant had a very friendly comfortable atmosphere. I would definately recommend paying this place a visit.
We and to this restaurant fir breakfast and Were greeted by a very nice waitress. The food was fresh old country feel and was inexpensive. I will be coming back!!

Dixie is back yayyyy!!. Had lunch at newly remodeled Dixie Restaurant in downtown Petersburg recently, and I am delighted it is back, and the people running it did such a beutiful job with the interior, and they know how to run a Restaurant. I got 2 of the famous Dixie Dogs, and they were perfect, just like I remembered from years ago, the chili was perfect and the dog was hot and the bun had been steamed, perfect. My friend had the homemade Chicken and Dumplings and said they were delicious. Nice people, great, friendly service, I will be back and often!!
