Business dinner – history about this place and the building is really cool. I wasn’t a fan of the interior, could be so much more. It is extremely loud and very hard to communicate. Food was exceptional (appetizer samplers, roasted duck and all dessert-YES!) everyone loved their meal but service was not very good. I would even say our actual waitress was terrible and so scattered brain – literally stopped in the middle of taking our order to deliver food to another table and several other rude things happen. Food and alcohol are the only reason this is 3.5.
Reading the other comments, I would agree it was loud/busy, and the food was great. I didnt think it was expensive, and I ordered the Texan Wild Boar Chops, which were AMAZING. We had a party of 6, and there were no complaints at our table. Service and food was really great. Just keep in mind that a LOT of people go there, so call ahead.
First time in Staunton VA. Young lady at The Frontier Culture Museum recommended Mill Street Grill for lunch. Excellent selection. Chicken Salad in Wrap and prime rib Philly was wonderful. Best Maryland Crab Soup EVER.
Mill Street Grill. Excellent!!!!!! Secluded in a old mill in the heart of Staunton ,Va. The management is superior ,the wait staff very professional, and the food is out of this world. All of their selections’ are wonderful and we consider it our favorite restaurant in the area.
Extensive menu (but still good!). Typically I am weary of multi-page menus, as they often symbolize mediocre meals. However, in the case of Mill Street Grill, I will say that I have been pleasantly surprised with most every meal I’ve had. No, it’s not the best food in the world, but it is certainly good. Not to mention, it’s one of the only places (if not the only?) place in Staunton to get a decent brunch and a Bloody Mary on Sunday morning. Their ribs are DA BOMB. Finger lickin’ fall of the bone goodness. Mmm mmm! I think if they shortened and refined their menu and focused on some true stand out items, they would be even better.
Great restaurant & Service. This restaurant has a good gluten free menu. The waiter (Billy} was very attentive and took the time to fully explain all menu options. His service was timely and efficient. The trout was excellent, the dinner rolls were the best I have had yet and served with honey butter. The chicken and rib platter left nothing to be desired and the best this side of the Mississippi. Great value for the money!!!!
Good food reasonable prices. Yes it was a little load but the food was worth it. Our waitress was awesome and full of local info.
